Music Technology Education
in SE Asia
The key to unlocking the potential of emerging nations is an educated population capbale of working in the 21st century. Beyond basic skills, this translates to technology-literacy and fluency in English and should they also develop critical thinking and creativity, the benefits would multiply. We believe that music technology can be used to achieve all three goals.
Studies have shown that students who study music use more of their brains, do better in school, participate in more activities than other students, are more creative and are better at critical thinking. Yet, music and the arts are considered luxuries in the schools of developing nations.
The main objectives of the program are:
•To provide computers and related equipment to schools in emerging countries in SE Asia.
•Train tech-literate music teachers
•Encourage governments to fully fund and support music technology education
Initially we will be working with three schools in Cambodia
